A day in the Park
It turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous day today, mid 70's, no humidity at all, like a perfect Seattle summer day. We headed out to Canal Park in downtown Duluth, just in time to see a 1000 ft ship pull into the port of Duluth. The ship had to pass below the bridge that connects Duluth to the port of Wisconsin and is unusal in that its not your typical draw bridge. Its a lift bridge, one of 2 in the nation. After that we headed to the Rose Garden at Leif Erickson Park and went down to the water by Lake Superior. Jay, my cousin's 5 year old, took off on his roller blades while we walked along the trail. He came back much later all battered and bruised like a wounded soldier, but in good spirits. The park had 2 small towers, almost like a medeival English castle so i took a few shots there. Then off we went to an English pub for lunch.....beer and ale and stout and that kind of thing. I don't drink so i'm no judge, but R says the microbrew he had was about the best beer he has had.
This evening we are heading out to dinner at a Thai restaurant and then the Duluth Playhouse to see "Noises off".
More pics at Canal Park
And more.....
We just got back from the play...no question about it, the funniest play i have ever seen. I laughed so much my throat is hoarse. If any of you gets the chance to see it, DON"T MISS IT!!!!
