Another day in another park
Our stay in Duluth is turning out to be one lazy day after another....in the morning R and R went to the Cirrus plane factory while Jerrie and I decided to go see Glensheen Estates. Unfortunately there was a school bus with 73 kids show up the same time as Jerrie and I did, so we couldn't get tickets for the mansion tour. So Jerrie took me for a drive thru Duluth, then we came back and got a picnic basket ready for a lunch in the park. R and R came back from the factory tour looking very thrilled cos one of Rajiv's friends who works there gave them a private tour of the factory. After that we picked Jay up from school and headed to Enger Tower Park for a picnic. We got a panoramic view of Duluth and Wisconsin across Lake Superior.
Later in the day Rajiv took us to the Univ. of Duluth where he is a professor in the Marketing Dept. Really cool campus where all the buildings are connected so students from the dorm don't ever have to step outside in the coldest of winters. In fact my cousin tells me many show up for classes in their pajamas!!! After that the 4 of us adults went for Da Vinci Code. I have been planning for months to read the book before the movie but never got around to it and figured i won't have time to read it for quite some time now, so i may as well see the movie. It was OK, i liked the twist at the end but all in all, it was just alright. With all the hype surrounding the book, I somehow expected more. Then back home to pick up the kids and out for Indian dinner where 2 of the kids entertained us with their singing. 5 year old Jay is a "Queen" fan and i tried to get him to sing one, but no use. He opted for Spiderman instead (sound clip posted). Then back home for another movie in Rajiv's awesome home theater, complete with bar and popcorn machine. We all watched E.T. - believe it or not, none of us had seen it. Now having seen it, i may have to say its one of the best movies i have seen. Its 11.30pm now...time for some Zzzzzz's.
More pics....
